The way it was
“The way it was” 1998. Originally photographed w/a Canon A2 using Kodak TMax400 film…
It’s nice to go through one’s work from past years… especially when thinking about the next phase.

Everything changes
All that matters at the bargain store when you are young. Visited the old neighborhood in Bklyn – not much familiar or recognizable anymore. As I walked through the streets it felt so cold compared to how it felt as a child. Gentrification can do that. Less family types, more single professionals. This one bargain store, which was completely different inside, held special memories. I think we’d go there almost everyday for something. Candy, loose leaf paper, slippers, frying pans, Halloween costumes… we were always in there. I miss the old Brooklyn – kids running, old men playing dominoes in the corner, and some people would come home dirty from a day’s work yet they were happy… they could still afford take their kids to a ballgame. Everything changes, right? This is progress, right?
